Almost time for turkey and family

Getting ready for turkey time? I sure am. Making plans with Tiffany and Jimbo for my quick 4 day visit back to Colorado for Thanksgiving. I'm exhausted from all of the traveling but I'm so excited to hang out with Tiffany and then to see the family. This is finally one full week that I have in el DF (distrito federal). One of our trainees here in Mexico had invited AIESEC to the conference that her company was organizing and it I decided to go. I was an assistant the first day, collecting questions for the Q&A part or passing the microphone. But I decided to go back on the second day in the morning to hear the Global Chairman for the Caux Round Table give a very interesting presentation about the state of Corporate Social Responsibility in the world. I must say I was quite impressed and I even got a photo :-P

Culiacan - los culichis me tratan bien :-)

Thank you, Culichis! (This is the caring term used to call people that are from Culiacan. They have treated me so well. Life is so laid back and we can be late everywhere, but they never let the ball drop when it comes to feeding me or making sure that I have everything I need. The most hospitable people I have ever met. I nearly believe that latin americans compete to be the best hosts in the world. Everyone goes so far out of their way to make you happy.

Coaching is great and I didn't mind the 18 bus ride at all. I think the huge difference between this and when I traveled from Costa Rica to Panama (16 hrs) is that you don't have to stop at any border crossing and you can just sleep through most of everything. Hopefully Sunday I can hit the beach :-) and then it'll be back to work on Monday afternoon.

pending - 18 hour bus ride

I know that in Costa Rica I was infected with the travel bug and it took me all over the country and into neighboring Nicaragua and Panama, but this year is above and beyond. I just can't keep up with the schedule. One of these days I'm going to make a list of all the trips I have made since January of this year, but I'm afraid I'd scare myself and others.

So where am I headed off to this week? The state of Sinaloa, city Culiacan. I'll be there until Sunday coaching the local committee (LC) and supporting the National Ougoing Preparation Seminar on Saturday for the members who are looking to go abroad for internships. Hopefully I'll be able to sneak away to the beach for a few hours as well. Photos will follow. Love you all - Gwen
