3 great documentaries you should see

While I have my very own blog, I'm going to take this opportunity to promote 3 documentaries that I've watched just in the past month and which I would wholeheartedly recommend each of you to watch for your own benefit and education.

  1. "What the Bleep Do We Know?" - A philosophical film that makes you think about reality and quantum physics. Really well made.
  2. "The Future of Food" - Simple facts about our food supply that you absolutely should know about to be an informed citizen.
  3. "Bogotá, Muro y Palabra" - A really cool documentary about the hiphop culture in Colombia made by a friend of mine who works in film. It's not a widespread film, but if you'd like a copy I can probably find a dvd burner.

Food for thought :-) Enjoy them if you get the chance to rent them. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed.

Running a 10 Kilometer race!

Wow! I did it! I finished a 10k race today after 59+ minutes of continuous movement! My body aches but I feel really good after all of it. I've been thinking about and slowly training for the Bolder Boulder (http://www.bolderboulder.com/) ever since I came back to the US last August. And I wanted to do it before I left the country, which is in 2 days (more like one now).

I'm so proud to have been able to run a 10k and I hope I continue to run or exercise in some way for my health. I encourage everyone seriously consider their physical health and take responsibility for it.

BolderBoulder 10k race

Have you ever run a 10k? Well I sure haven't. Not until Monday that is because I'm actually going to attempt the famous BolderBoulder. It's really a wonderful and fun race, I just haven't participated until this year. I've been training a little here and there all year and I can definitely do a 5k no problem, but this 10k has me worried. I'm banking on the adrenaline and numbness to help me forget the pain and push through to the end. I'm actually quite excited. I've been waiting to run this race all year. Hopefully I won't die before I make it to Mexico.

Hmm, yeah, so this is my first blog and I have very little idea of how to use this darn thing. If anyone has any tips for editing the "About" section or adding a photo there, please help :-).

Other than that you'll be getting basic basic basic posts like this one! Have a great day.

One week to major life change

The first posting ever on my very on weblog. I hope you enjoy :-) We'll see how well I keep this thing going. I don't have much to say quite yet because I'm still just getting ready for the long haul. I've got boxes and luggage to pack and many loose ends to tie up. I'll be back once something exciting happens. Ciao!
