First day of team transition!
Sebastian arrived last night from Colombia and as of today there were 13 of us in the office for transition. 5 people from the previous national team and 8 from the incoming. It was so cool! It's a great team with really wonderful spirit and knowledge. I'm really excited to work with these guys. I can easily see how this month will be very emotional and a wonderful kick-off to my year in Mexico. It's really going to be a whole new start in my life and it's very exciting.
Tonight is Sebas' birthday so we're heading out to the bars and then I've got transition all tomorrow and then the birthday party of a local member. Hopefully I'll meet up with my AIESEC US friend, Noorie from San Diego, since she is in Mexico studying spanish, but we'll see :-) Hasta luego, amigos!

Hello Gwen!
Wow, this is the first time I've been to your blog. Sorry! I know I've been behind.
It's good that you're adjusting to life in Mexico city with such relative ease! AND you've got the language down pat, so no worries there. Sorry to hear about the curtains though. I would go buy some cheep sheets and just hang them over the window for now. I would freak out if I woke up and found someone staring into my window. bleck!
My job went really well the first week. I'm learning the computer systems right now so that I can get traffic (people who come in to see apartments) updated. I also learned how to type up leases (I'm handling legal documents, how scary is that?!). I'm also doing all the stuff I was doing before; answering phones, getting packages, making coffee, baking cookies, calling the towing company to tow cars (that's actually something new), filing, putting in work orders and following up on the, being a general pain in the ass (that's a freebie from me!), etc.
Now that I've worked there a week, I'm going on vacation to Minnesota! Hooray! I feel bad for bailing on my job so soon after I started, but they knew that hiring me in the first place. Hopefully I'll remember how to do all the things I learned once I get back. Yikes!
Anyhow, just thought I would drop you a line. I haven't gotten a chance to send off your second package yet because I leave the house before the post office opens and get back after it's already closed. But, I have Sundays and Mondays off, so I should be able to ship it tomorrow. Don't quote me though. lol I hope you're going well. Talk to you soon!
